Wilton brewery heavily damaged by fire Monday

WILTON — A fire at popular Ambition Brewing at 295 Main St. in Wilton was out about one-and-a-half hours after it was reported.

The fire has been ruled accidental.

Firefighters remained at the scene later Monday afternoon and it appeared the building was heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water.

Earlier in the afternoon, heavy dark smoke could be seen pouring from the upstairs windows of the building.

The brewery was founded by Jeff Chaisson and Josh Michaud in 2018.

Firefighters had Main Street blocked off in the downtown area to fight the blaze.

Fire officials could not be reached for details by Monday evening.
