A new group art exhibition is bringing together six artists for an afternoon of art, conversation and cultural connection in West Hollywood.
“Nazim & Friends” opens Sunday, Aug. 16, at Long Hall in Plummer Park, with an opening reception and “Meet the Artists” event from 3 to 6 p.m. The exhibition, presented by West Hollywood’s Professor Naum Reznik Russian Language Public Library, will feature works by Nazim Hajiyev, Anna Milstein, Edward Goff, Arzu Khalilova, Fidan Kim and Oleg Volovik, who also works under the name “Alec Wolvec.”
The free reception offers visitors an opportunity to meet the artists and get a first look at the exhibition before it remains on display through Oct. 12.
The exhibition will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The exhibition is being presented by the Professor Naum Reznik Russian Language Public Library, a volunteer-run institution that has served as a cultural gathering place for the Russian-speaking community in West Hollywood.
The library was founded at the initiative of Professor Naum Reznik, president of the Association of Engineers and Scientists. On March 15, 1993, the library celebrated its first anniversary after recent immigrants donated about 2,000 books.
Today, the library’s collection includes more than 22,000 Russian-language titles, spanning classic literature, contemporary fiction, nonfiction, children’s books and educational materials.
Located in West Hollywood, the library has become a natural center for Russian-speaking residents and others interested in Russian language and culture. Its volunteer librarians help maintain the collection and provide a space where visitors can connect through literature, language and cultural exchange.
“Nazim & Friends” adds another dimension to that mission, bringing visual art into the same community space and giving visitors a chance to experience the work of artists while meeting them in person.
With free admission and no RSVP required, the Aug. 16 opening reception offers an easy way to spend a Sunday afternoon exploring local art and connecting with a longtime West Hollywood cultural institution.
