Vivo T5x 5G India launch officially teased, could arrive under Rs 25,000

Vivo has begun teasing the launch of its next T-series smartphone in India, the Vivo T5x 5G, positioning it as a performance-focused option in the competitive mid-range market. The upcoming handset will succeed the Vivo T4x 5G, which debuted in March last year. Early promotional material suggests the company is targeting buyers who prioritise speed and battery endurance in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment.

In a teaser shared on social media and a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, Vivo highlighted the device’s benchmark performance, claiming that the T5x 5G has achieved an AnTuTu score of more than one million points. While the company did not officially confirm the chipset’s name, the teaser emphasises that the smartphone will deliver top-tier performance within its price category. The promotional material also includes a note describing the device as the “fastest phone under Rs 23,000 as of March 5, 2026,” strongly indicating that Vivo plans to price the handset below that threshold in India.

It also suggests a steep price hike for the Vivo T5x, as its predecessor, the T4x, launched at a starting price of Rs 13,999. The handset has received a price hike, though, now starting at Rs 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. If we compare it to the current price, then it may not seem like the price has increased too much, but it does show the rapid shift in the smartphone market, especially in the budget segment, which may not be as budget-friendly as it used to be.

Back to the Vivo T5x. This teaser marks the first official confirmation of the Vivo T5x 5G’s existence and its upcoming arrival in the country. More detailed information about the device is expected closer to launch, but leaks have already hinted at some key specifications.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Vivo T5x 5g could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset. The device is also expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. On the battery front, leaks suggest the phone may pack either a 6,000mAh or a larger 7,200mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging, which would place it among the larger-battery smartphones in this price bracket.

If these specifications prove accurate, the Vivo T5x 5G could represent a notable upgrade over the Vivo T4x 5G, particularly in terms of raw processing power and battery capacity. The smartphone is expected to target buyers looking for reliable performance for gaming, multitasking, and long usage times. With its emphasis on performance and a potentially large battery, Vivo appears to be positioning the T5x 5G as a strong contender for buyers who prioritise speed and endurance over other features.

If you’re considering a smartphone under Rs 25,000, the Vivo T5x 5G may be worth waiting for, particularly if gaming performance and battery life are key priorities.
