Temperatures plummet below 10°C in 11 Telangana districts as cold wave intensifies


Telangana continues to shiver under the grip of a cold wave, with minimum day temperatures dropping across multiple districts. 

Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reveals that between November 17 and 18, a total of 11 locations recorded temperatures below 10°C. The lowest minimum temperature of 6.8°C was registered in Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad. This was followed by 7.8°C in Kohir (Sangareddy), 8°C in Rudrangi (Rajanna Sircilla), 8.6°C in Bheemaram (Jagtial), 8.7°C in Mominpet (Vikarabad), 8.8°C in Nasrullabad (Kamareddy), 8.9°C in Bazarhathnoor (Adilabad), 9.2°C in Nizamabad North (Nizamabad) and Akbarpet (Siddipet), 9.5°C in Nizampet (Medak) and 9.9°C in Khanapur (Nirmal).

The remaining 22 districts recorded temperatures between 10°C and 14°C. Muduchinthalapally in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 11.6°C and Maredpally in Hyderabad recorded 13.1°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather for the next three days (November 19 to 21). For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, mist and hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning and night hours. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 15°C respectively,” said an IMD bulletin.
