Lizotte took part in an optional morning skate and is expected to play; he had missed time during training camp because of an upper-body injury. … Rust and Kindel skated in noncontact jerseys, and Penguins coach Dan Muse said nothing has changed for either forward; each is on injured reserve and considered week to week. … Forward Andrei Kuzmenko remains away from the Penguins following the death of his father, Alexander; the funeral was in Russia on Monday. … The Flyers held an optional morning skate. Couturier and Acciari were the only healthy players not taking part, but coach Rick Tocchet said each is available to play. … Vladar took part in the morning skate and will start after missing the final two preseason games because of an upper-body injury sustained against the Boston Bruins on Sept. 22.
