No Sakshi journos please, says ex-YSRCP MLA

A latest message posted on social media by YSR Congress Party leader and former Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar has triggered discussion within the party.

In the message, Ganesh appealed to reporters of Sakshi media, owned by the family of YSRCP president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, not to come to the Visakhapatnam South constituency or cover any news related to him and the party.

He said that if Sakshi reporters continue to cover news in the present manner, the YSRCP would not win even a single seat in Visakhapatnam, not just in his constituency.

“Sakshi newspaper reporters, please don’t come to us. It is better for us to develop ourselves through social media. We can run our own newspaper better than Sakshi,” Ganesh, who is now the party in-charge of Visakhapatnam South, said in the message.

He said that if Sakshi newspaper continues to function in the present manner, no YSRCP candidate would win in the next elections from the Visakhapatnam urban constituencies.

“I shall take it up with Bharati ma’am when the time comes. I will not leave it like this,” the former MLA said.

Ganesh alleged that Sakshi reporters had not attended even a single party programme, despite the efforts and struggles of the party leaders.

“I think Sakshi reporters are working for the TDP. They are cheating both the newspaper and the YSRCP,” he said.
