Truck explodes in Sanford, Maine, as fire spreads to nearby home
SANFORD, Maine —
A moving truck erupted in flames on Acorn Street in Sanford on Monday afternoon, with the fire spreading to a nearby home.
Video and pictures shared with Maine’s Total Coverage showed the truck engulfed in flames. The back of the truck appeared to have been blown out. Witnesses tell Maine’s Total Coverage they heard some sort of explosion.
The front of a building next to the truck was also on fire. Firefighters said the fire spread very quickly from the truck to the house.
The truck said DN Van Lines on the front. That is a moving company based out of Massachusetts.
Smoke from the fire could be seen from quite a distance away. Firefighters from several towns responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire was under investigation on Monday afternoon.
