It’s women’s semi-finals day in the Spanish capital, with Mirra Andreeva, Hailey Baptiste, Marta Kostyuk and Anastasia Potapova all looking to seal their place in the showpiece event. Meanwhile, on the men’s side of the tournament, the remaining two quarter-finals take place.
10:00 CET – Good morning and welcome to our coverage of today’s tennis at the Madrid Open, as the women’s semi-finals take centre stage, while the remaining two men’s quarter-finals also take place.
The first women’s semi-final sees world number eight Mirra Andreeva come up against Hailey Baptiste, with the American coming off the back of a sensational victory over Aryna Sabalenka in the last eight.
On the other side of the draw, Marta Kostyuk is targeting an 11th straight clay-court triumph when she takes on lucky loser Anastasia Potapova, with both women chasing their biggest-ever final.

Over on the men’s side of the tournament, play gets started in a few hours at 13:00 CET, as Norway’s Casper Ruud continues his title defence against talented Belgian Alexander Blockx in the last eight.
Later on, the men’s quarter-finals conclude with second seed Alexander Zverev taking on Flavio Cobolli, with the German looking to avenge his defeat to Cobolli in the Munich semi-finals a couple of weeks ago.
