Live updates: Israel-Gaza, Trump issues warning to Hamas as tensions grow over release of deceased hostages

At least 14 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank last month and more than 200 were injured, according to figures released by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), amid escalated Israeli military operations and Israeli settler violence in the region.

According to OCHA, there were 142 Israeli settler attacks in September alone. In that month, 285 Palestinians living in the West Bank were displaced.

Between January 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, 690 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, including 131 children, the UN figures show. The majority of these fatalities — 667 — were at the hands of Israeli forces, while 12 were carried out by Israeli settlers. A further 6,140 Palestinians were injured during this timeframe.

Since January 2024, Israeli settlers have carried out 2,660 attacks resulting in casualties and property damage, and 39,843 Palestinians were displaced, according to OCHA.

Of the 690 Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank, the majority — 470 — were caused by live ammunition, while 199 were caused by Israeli airstrikes.

The UN said injuries were caused by rubber bullets, live ammunition, physical assault and tear gas inhalation, among others.

More background: Since the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has intensified operations across the West Bank, targeting Palestinian militant cells, imposing checkpoints, and cutting communities off from the outside world.

There has also been an escalation in Israeli settler attacks and land grabs in the territory. Israeli settlements in the West Bank are considered illegal under international law.
