Vivo’s V-series has long been the brand’s design-focused, camera-first lineup in India. Sitting firmly in the upper mid-range segment, these phones typically focus on sleek design, vibrant displays, and portrait-centric camera systems. With the Vivo V70 series set to launch in India next week, the company appears ready to double down on that formula, but with a noticeable performance boost this time.
Vivo has been steadily teasing the V70 series in the run-up to its launch, and here’s a quick rundown of everything you need to know to get up to speed.
Vivo V70 series India launch date
The Vivo V70 series is scheduled to launch in India on February 19th. Pre-bookings are said to run from February 12th to February 24th, with official sales beginning February 25th. The smartphone is also confirmed to go on sale via Amazon and Flipkart. The launch event is scheduled to start at 12 pm and you can watch it live through the link below.
Vivo V70 series specifications
The headline act is the Vivo V70 Elite, which is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a capable mid-range chi[set. It is tipped to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The battery capacity should be more than enough for moderate to heavy usage, but it might still fall short against 7,000mAh+ phones.

On the display front, the V70 Elite will feature a 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. This suggests a very bright display, catering well to outdoor visibility. Since it’s a flat display with ultra-thin bezels, the V70 series will also be great for media consumption.
Cameras remain central to the V-series identity. The V70 Elite will feature a 50MP main camera, a 50MP Zeiss-branded telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide camera, along with a 50MP front-facing sensor. Support for 4K HDR video and features like AI Audio Noise Eraser suggest Vivo is targeting content creators and social media users who prioritise video clarity as much as still photography. The standard V70 is also expected to get a similar setup.
The V70 series will run OriginOS 6 and offer four OS upgrades along with six years of software updates. This is one of the longest software support you can get in this segment, and something that would significantly strengthen Vivo’s long-term value proposition.
Vivo V70 series India pricing (leaked)
As for pricing, the standard Vivo V70 could reportedly start at Rs 45,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model and Rs 49,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The Vivo V70 Elite may begin at Rs 51,999 for the 8GB + 256GB option, rising to Rs 56,999 for the 12GB + 256GB and Rs 61,999 for the 12GB + 512GB configuration.
At these prices, the V70 series would be entering the sub-flagship territory where heavy specs matter a lot. It’s interesting to see how Vivo plans to cater to this segment with its design and camera-first strategy. Vivo’s strength remains imaging. The inclusion of Zeiss optics and a high-resolution selfie camera suggests the V70 Elite is less about gaming supremacy and more about delivering strong portrait photography and polished video output. That positions it slightly differently from pure performance-centric competitors.
If your priority is gaming performance and benchmark numbers alone, you may find alternatives in the segment that squeeze out slightly better value. But if you care about design, a bright display, durable build quality, and camera versatility, the V70 Elite could offer a more balanced package. The standard V70, starting under Rs 50,000, may appeal to buyers who want the V-series aesthetic and camera experience without stretching into the Elite’s price territory.
