Starring in five different dating shows might be unconventional. Enlisting your ex-girlfriend to help you vet your future wife? Even more so.
Harry Jowsey, always looking to push boundaries since his breakout appearance in Netflix’s “Too Hot to Handle” six years ago, is now starring in his own show, “Let’s Marry Harry” (episodes 1-7 streaming now), whose premise is for Jowsey to make it to the altar with a woman in five weeks as his friends call the shots.
That’s where his fellow “Too Hot” alumna Georgia Hassarati comes in. The two dated on and off beginning in 2022 and had a rocky relationship following their split. But they’ve since resolved their differences, and she agreed to be one of three consultants who guided Jowsey through the eight-episode series.
“Georgia and me have really gone through the trenches. We’ve been through it all,” Jowsey tells USA TODAY. “And the fact that we are on the other side of it and we’re the best of friends is really incredible, and I couldn’t imagine being in her position. It was really brave of her.”
So with a support system by his side, the 29-year-old Australian podcaster let the loss of his dad to terminal illness in December 2024 propel him into the next chapter of finding a life partner – even if the process entails being “engaged” to more than a dozen women wearing rings on their left hands before they’ve even met Jowsey.
It’s up to viewers to determine whether “Let’s Marry Harry” is an earnest endeavor or just a stunt for entertainment value that adds another credit on Jowsey’s IMDB page. But what does Hassarati actually think about her ex’s latest reality TV venture?
“It’s very Harry,” she says diplomatically. “His life’s been so public, why not get married in a public way?”

Jowsey’s “honorary brother,” Sonny Henty, is less sparing with his words.
When Henty, who has been married for nine years, heard about the show, his initial reaction was that it was a “terrible” idea. Nonetheless, he signed on because, as Jowsey explains, “Sonny doesn’t like my other friends, so he’s like, ‘I have to do it’ because he doesn’t trust anyone else.”
“Good Grief” podcast host Amanda Kloots, whom Jowsey leaned on after his father’s death, is much more generous: “He explained it, and it actually made a lot of sense.”
He was eager to check all the boxes – wife, house, kids – Kloots says, calling the show “the perfect vehicle to get it done fast.”

But perhaps he rushed into it all too fast. After being caught off guard by an emotional visit from his family in New Zealand, Jowsey agonizes over whether he’s ready for a lifelong commitment as he faces his wedding day.
Five weeks is “pretty quick for a marriage,” he acknowledges.
Jowsey also found that being a leading man for the first time – and in fact, the only eligible bachelor featured in the cast – to be “the most pressure ever.” He was always in an ensemble cast on prior shows, including “Perfect Match” (for which Hassarati appeared in an earlier season), MTV’s “Match Me if You Can” and even “Dancing with the Stars.”
“If someone’s gonna make a mistake, it’s gonna be me,” Jowsey says. “There’s no other guys there to [point at], like, ‘He kissed the wrong girl.’ It’s all my decisions and me being a silly sausage.”
The “Let’s Marry Harry” finale releases on Netflix Wednesday, Aug. 12.
