Gabrielle Union Is Back In Her Bob Era

It may not feel like it right now if you’re living in a wintry climate—or if you listen to Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog, who predicted another six weeks of winter—but spring is on the horizon! And with the dawn of spring comes the urge to change things up, just like nature does. If you’ve been thinking about a spring refresh, let us point you in the direction of Gabrielle Union and her adorable new bob.

The actor, currently starring in the forthcoming animated movie Goat, headed out for a day of press in New York City with the cutest of crops: a side-parted, asymmetrical bob that hit just above her jawline and hugged the nape of her neck. Union’s go-to hairstylist, Larry Jarah Sims, tucked a portion of hair behind Union’s ear to really show off the softly angled shape.

Union’s new bob instantly reminded us of the one she debuted last January at Paris Fashion Week, a Posh Spice-esque asymmetrical crop that tiptoed into bixie territory; the 2026 iteration is just a teeny bit longer than its 2025 counterpart. Before returning to her bob era, the Bring It On icon had been wearing her hair longer, going from just past shoulder length to a true lob in early January, and while she looks amazing in every length and style, there’s something about this springy short hair that feels so right for right now. (And kudos to Union for stepping out in a mini and bare legs amidst New York City’s current cold snap!)

We’re not the only ones crushing on Union’s bob. One quick scroll through her most recent Instagram post reveals that pretty much everyone is a fan, including her husband Dwyane Wade, who dropped a goat emoji in the comments alongside tons of flames and hearts.
