- Residents in Dover, Delaware, are cleaning up after a confirmed tornado damaged hotels, brought down trees and power lines and knocked out power across the city.
- The mayor of Dover issued a state of emergency as police blocked roads and crews worked to restore power and clear debris. That state of emergency was later lifted Friday morning. Despite the widespread damage, police said no injuries were reported.
- The tornado occurred after powerful storms swept through the entire region on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, prompting a tornado watch and multiple tornado warnings, as well as heavy rain and flash flooding.
