Belagavi: Belagavi district is preparing for the II PUC examinations scheduled from Feb 28 to March 17. A total of 51,938 students have registered across the two educational divisions of Belagavi and Chikkodi. As many as 95 examination centres have been designated, with necessary arrangements completed. Prohibitory measures have been imposed around the centres to ensure a disturbance-free environment for students.A total of 22,411 students will write the exam in the Belagavi educational district, of which 19,981 are regular students, 1,900 are repeaters, 501 are directly facing the exam, and 29 students registered to improve their results. For this, 41 examination centres were identified in 6 taluk centres, including Belagavi city, in the Belagavi educational district.
In the Chikodi educational district, there are 27,110 regular students, 1,795 repeaters, 614 are directly facing the exam, and 8 students have registered to improve their results. There are 54 examination centres in 8 taluks of Chikodi educational district.There are 20 examination centres in Belagavi taluk, 10 in Raibag, 9 in Athani, 8 in Gokak, 8 in Hukkeri, 7 in Chikodi, 7 in Bailhongal, 5 each in Ramdurg and Mudalagi taluk, 4 in Kagwad, and 3 each in Savadatti, Kittur, Nippani, and Khanapur taluk.CCTV camera security is being provided to all examination centres. Basic facilities, including drinking water, will be provided at the examination centres. Education department officials said bus transport arrangements will be in place to ensure that students reach the examination centres on time.MM Kamble, deputy director PU Belagavi, said that various experiments were carried out at the college level to increase the results of the Second PUC this time. This hasboosted the self-confidence of the students, he added.
