On Wednesday at 9:35 a.m. a beach hazards statement was released by the NWS Wakefield VA in effect until 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
“Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water,” describes the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
This statement is in effect until 8 p.m.
