Alvaro Arbeloa addressed the challenge of the Carabao Cup that awaits Fulham.
In the last month, the Cottagers had suffered three successive Premier League losses against Chelsea (2-3), Sunderland (1-0) and Crystal Palace (2-3), putting pressure on the team. They are still without a win, but a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield allowed Arbeloa to breathe a little.

Now, the Spaniard prepares to travel across the capital city to take on West Ham, another one of his former clubs. The Hammers are adjusting to life outside of the English topflight, bouncing back from a defeat and two draws in their first three fixtures to score 16 goals across four consecutive victories.
They the top the table in the Championship as they welcome Fulham to the London Stadium, and Arbeloa expects his men to be worked hard as they chase their first triumph of the 2026/27 campaign.
“Yes, what a week for me! And another London Derby – Chelsea, Crystal Palace, now West Ham.
“An away game in a difficult stadium, against a team that are performing so well. They won their last game 6-0 [against Wrexham], they beat Southampton in the Carabao Cup, also, so we know them.
“They are a difficult team with top players. Even some of them have Premier League level [experience], so for me they are not a Championship team. If we want to beat them, we need to perform so well.
“For me, we want to win all the games, so the target for us tomorrow is win the game, because if we don’t win the game, we are out of the competition. So, we know that it’s a final for us. It’s very important to beat them and to try to go to the next round.”
