The slate opens with a potential Super Bowl preview between two high-powered offenses. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will host Jahmyr Gibbs and the Detroit Lions in a battle of 1-0 squads on Thursday Night Football, which will also be the opening game for the Bills in their new stadium.

Looking ahead to Sunday, there are eight games in the early window and four games later in the afternoon. The main event is an AFC showdown between two of the best teams of 2025, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Denver Broncos. Other highlights include the Pittsburgh Steelers visiting the New England Patriots and the Houston Texans hosting the Cincinnati Bengals. There are five divisional rivalries throughout the afternoon, most notably the Minnesota Vikings at the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders at the Dallas Cowboys.
