Impact weather returns Wednesday; first heat then storm chances increase

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A heat advisory has been issued for parts of the WLKY viewing area (including Louisville) for Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to climb back into the mid 90s with feel-like temperatures climbing over the century mark.

Then, scattered shower and storm chances will increase by Wednesday evening and last through Thursday as a weak cold front sags slowly south across our area.

Although a few stronger cells will be possible late Wednesday and Wednesday evening – mainly north of Louisville and the Ohio River, widespread severe weather is NOT expected.

By early Thursday morning, the front will be pushing into the viewing area bringing a better chance for rain and storms.

How to stay weather aware⛈️:

The front should slowly clear the area late in the work-week with the highest rain chances shifting farther south across the Commonwealth as we push through Friday.

Mainly dry conditions return for the upcoming weekend with a gradual warm-up as well. Temperatures are likely to push back into the 90s for Sunday and early next week.
