GTA 6 is coming out on November 19th this year, but when exactly on November 19th? The answer depends on where you are.
That’s the chief finding from GTA fan site GTAVice.net, who evaluated regional PlayStation Store data to find out the exact release times for 15 different regions of the world, which can vary by up to 19 hours.
As you might have guessed from previous staggered releases, territories on the left side of the international date line will be the first to experience GTA 6, with New Zealand being first up. Kiwis get the game on 11:00 UTC on November 18th.
Meanwhile, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua get the game some 19 hours later, at 06:00 UTC on November 19th.
In terms of Digital Foundry team members, it looks like John and Alex will be the first to unlock the game at 23:00 UTC on November 18th, or midnight CET, with myself, Rich and Tom following one hour later when the clock hits midnight in the UK (00:00 UTC). Oliver, on the left side of Canada, gets the game five hours later than that, at 05:00 UTC on November 19th.
If you want to play the game early, you’ll want to be on Xbox, as it’s relatively straightforward to temporarily join the New Zealand time zone to unlock ahead of time via Settings – whereas on PlayStation, this requires a whole new account that has to purchase the game with a local payment method.
Are you planning to play GTA 6 the instant it unlocks? Or are you going to get to it whenever you’d next normally play games? Let me know in the comments below.
