Santy Sharma Receives Death Threats Over Reservation Remarks: Who Is The Rapper Rumoured To Join Salman Khan-Hosted Bigg Boss 20?


Rapper and singer Santy Sharma, who has been rumoured to be part of Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 20, has revealed that he received death threats after speaking publicly about reservation reform. Sharma shared a derogatory comment posted under one of his social media posts and responded by saying that threats would not stop him from raising questions about the issue.

The rapper has been vocal about reservation and student related issues on social media and recently launched a public awareness campaign around the subject.

What Did Santy Sharma Say About The Death Threats?

Sharing the comment on his Instagram Stories, Sharma responded to the person who allegedly threatened him. He wrote, “Agar mai students ke haq mein aarakshan ki baat kar raha hoon, aur uske badle mujhko jaan se maarne ki dhamki mil rahi hai toh mai kisi dhamki se darne wala nahi hu. Dhamki mujhko chup nahi kar sakti (If I am speaking about reservation in favour of students and I am receiving death threats in return, I am not going to be afraid of any threat. Threats cannot silence me).”

In another post, Sharma explained why he believes he has been targeted.

He wrote, “I’m receiving death threats just because I’m speaking about reservation reform and asking questions that people don’t want to hear. I’m not against any student or any community. I’m only asking for a fair and honest discussion on the reservation system, And I will continue to speak about the truth behind the Cockroach Janata Party and its founders.”

“Threats won’t silence me. If speaking the truth comes with a price, I’m ready to pay it. Stay strong and keep asking questions,” the rapper added.

What Is Santy Sharma’s Reservation Hatao Campaign?

Earlier this month, Sharma launched a campaign titled “Reservation Hatao – August Kranti” and described it as an independent public awareness initiative focused on reservation related issues.

The campaign was launched during a press conference in Andheri West, Mumbai. Sharma said the movement would initially use social media to reach people before expanding to other online platforms.

Actor Puneet Vasishtha, who has previously appeared on Bigg Boss, attended the event and publicly supported the initiative.

Sharma’s campaign comes after a period in which his social media posts and comments about reservation and a student organisation he has referred to as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) have attracted attention online.

Who Is Santy Sharma?

Sharma, whose real name is Ganesh Sharma, is an independent rapper, singer and lyricist from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Born on September 9, 1996, he began his journey as a rap artist around 2014 and went on to establish himself in the independent music scene.

He gained attention through tracks such as Suni Suni Sadko and Udaan which were released on YouTube. Over the years, he has also released independent and commercial songs including Peeta Daaru and his debut studio album Reborn which arrived in 2025.

While Sharma began largely as an independent artist, he has also made his way into mainstream Bollywood music.

He contributed a rap anthem to the 2025 comedy film Housefull 5.

Is Santy Sharma Joining Bigg Boss 20?

Sharma has also been linked to the upcoming season of Bigg Boss, which will once again be hosted by Salman Khan. But his participation in Bigg Boss 20 remains a rumour unless officially confirmed by the show’s makers.
