Chicago Cubs slugger Pete Crow-Armstrong mentioned Babe Ruth and almost believed the seven-time World Series champion never existed.
During a rapid-fire “unpopular opinions” segment on Tuesday’s episode of Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, Crow-Armstrong said he heard a Seattle Mariners pitcher say that Ruth never existed.

“Babe Ruth never existed is one that I love,” PCA said. “I heard some pitcher with the Mariners, Salcedo? I think he did some podcast on Zoom when he was going down the rabbit hole with somebody about how Babe Ruth never existed.”
When asked by the host if he believes that, PCA added:
“No, it’s like we always talk about how like the game‘s evolving and people might as well have been like underhanding the ball to that guy and he’s regarded still as one of the best players ever and you might as well dive further into it and be like, well, maybe he just never existed.”
PCA’s remark on Ruth’s existence didn’t go down well with MLB fans.

The other two in this list are Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.
When made aware of the same, PCA shared he didn’t grow up watching these legends, who are in Cooperstown.

“I haven’t seen the names, I haven’t really looked at the numbers,” Crow-Armstrong said. “That’s funny, like, I don’t really have much of a reaction, because I didn’t grow up watching those guys.
“That’s pretty weird, I think,” Crow-Armstrong added after learning about their status. “Just because those guys are kind of like folklore to me. I didn’t really look at the numbers much, but I did see those names floating around mine.”
Instead of getting compared to Ruth or Gehrig, PCA wanted to be in the same conversation as fellow AL Player of the Month in June, i.e., Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero.
“I’m mostly just happy to be in the same conversation as Junior,” Crow-Armstrong said, “because that’s another guy that’s pushing our game forward, and I love how he plays. So yeah, cool for sure.”

PCA may have stirred up some fans with such reactions, but the Cubs slugger is doing really well and is in the 2026 NL MVP conversation.
