NFL Network: Browns, CB Denzel Ward agree to two-year, $62.2 million extension | Latest NFL News, Analysis & Updates

The Cleveland Browns and Denzel Ward agreed to a two-year, $62.2 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid cornerback in the league and includes $52.3 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.

Ward’s average annual salary on the new deal is $31.1 million, just above the Los Angeles Rams’ Trent McDuffie’s $31 million-per-year deal that previously set the high-water mark during the offseason.

Ward has thus far been a lifetime Brown, with five Pro Bowls, 361 tackles, 104 passes defensed and 18 interceptions since joining Cleveland as the No. 4 overall pick in 2018.

Around the NFL will have more on Ward shortly.
