The Sydney Sixers have today confirmed their squad to take on the Sydney Thunder in the Sydney Smash tomorrow night, marking the club’s final home game of the season at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
With a packed SCG expected and finals momentum on the line, the clash shapes as one of the most anticipated fixtures of the campaign.
The Sydney Smash rivalry has a long history of big moments and high-pressure contests, and tomorrow night’s encounter promises to be no different as the Sixers look to finish their home season strongly in front of their members and fans.
The Sixers receive a significant boost with the inclusion of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who comes into the squad for the blockbuster match.
Fresh of his player of series performance in the Ashes, Starc brings world-class experience and proven match-winning ability to the Sixers’ attack.
Despite having recently retired from T20Is, Starc is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous white-ball bowlers in the world, sending fear into the hearts of opposition batters.
His left-arm pace, swing with the new ball and ability to strike at key moments add significant firepower to an already stacked Sixers lineup.
Daniel Hughes returns from illness to rejoin the squad, if selected he will play his 100th game as a Sixer.
The squad features a strong mix of international stars, experienced campaigners and emerging talent as the Sixers prepare for a fierce contest against their cross-town rivals.
