Guwahati: Residents across parts of Assam, including Guwahati, felt a moderate 4.2 magnitude earthquake on 25 February 2026, Wednesday, at 10:22 pm.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter was located approximately 1 km from Kanakpur in Assam’s Cachar district.
While the tremors caused brief panic among locals, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
Authorities have advised residents to remain alert for potential aftershocks.
