Cedar Park police said one person was shot and killed by law enforcement after fleeing the scene of a stabbing Sunday night.
CEDAR PARK, Texas — One person is dead after a call about a stabbing led to a shooting involving an officer Sunday night in Cedar Park.
According to the Cedar Park Police Department, law enforcement responded just before 10 p.m. Sunday to a possible stabbing at TopSpin karaoke bar, located at 1851 South Lakeline Blvd near the Shoppes at Lakeline Village.
Police said they found a person suffering from severe injuries and they were taken to a hospital, where they are expected to recover.
Meanwhile, responders said the suspect initially left the scene, but police found them shortly after on a motorcycle.
In a media briefing Sunday night, law enforcement said a short chase ensued before the suspect got off the motorcycle and pulled out a gun. They were then shot by two police officers, according to responders.
Both officers are now on administrative leave, per the department’s policy. It’s currently unclear how many shots were fired by police and/or if the suspect shot his gun after pulling it out.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
